How absorbent is Bamboo and how does it wick moisture?

One of the great attributes of bamboo fiber is that it is very unique in that the individual fibers have cross sections filled with micro-holes and micro-gaps. This gives viscose from bamboo fabric the ability to absorb moisture, 3-4 times that of cotton. The same characteristics that give viscose from bamboo fabric its absorbency also give it its amazing wicking abilities. This benefit makes bamboo sheets, bath towels, bamboo shirts, bamboo socks and baby clothes exceptionally terrific!

In fact, in 3rd party independent laboratory testing done on bamboo fabric’s wicking abilities the results were very favorable. Bamboo fabric is superior, even over synthetic “athletic” fabrics, which are specifically designed to wick moisture.
